Kwon Sang-Woo is a native of South Korea who made a go of it in the modelling and acting arena. He was born in August of 1976 in the town of Daejeon, South Korea. He first began his acting career in 2001 and is still acting to this day. Kwon Sang-Woo was married in 2008 to Son Tae-young. He has one child, a son.
Kwon is a Christian. He became a Christian after playing the part of a priest in one of his many movies. He is 182 cm tall and weighs about 70 kg. Some of his favourite hobbies include boxing, swimming and basketball. He also enjoys working out in a health club. His hobbies help him to stay in the shape he is in, fit. In the movie Jang Hyuk is transferred to Volcano High as a last resort. It is the only school that will take him in after being removed from so many other schools for the trouble he causes.
The Movie Fate is about fellow gang members who decide to rob a casino. They want to rob this casino to get the money they need to start their lives over. One of the gang members betrays the others and one of them ends up in prison. Upon being released from prison the gang member tries to stay out of trouble but it seems to follow him. Kwon plays the gang member who betrays the others. Song Seung-heon plays the character that goes to prison.
A very popular TV series that started in South Korea and ended up being played through much of Asia was Stairway to Heaven. This show is about two childhood friends who end up falling in love. Kwon Sang-woo plays the part of one of the friends and Choi Ji-woo plays the other friend. They go through many hardships that keep their relationship from going any further. This drama has been well received throughout the Asian communities. This TV series started in 2003.
Another TV series that Kwon appeared in is My Tutor Friend. In this show Kwon plays a young man who is trouble in school and cannot pass his exams. Choi Su-Wan played by Kin Ha-Neul is in her second year at the university. She is struggling to pay her tuition and must tutor other kids in order to pay her way through college. She ends up tutoring Kwon. They are both the same age and end up close friends. They eventually fall in love.
